    Once-Only-Principle Registrycensus
    DESTATIS Federal Statistical Office

The Federal Statistical Office commissioned several companies in 2021 to support the development of the census register. The framework contract covers software development services, including both work and service performances. The goal is to gradually develop the census method into a register-based procedure.

The census register data shall be obtained to the extent possible from existing sources of administration and statistics, automated, aggregated, and prepared.

The guiding principle is the Once-Only Principle: citizens will only be asked for necessary information in the future where it does not already exist or is not in sufficient quality or depth in the administration or statistics. With the new method, the census results can be provided more frequently, current, and regionally subdivided in the future. This allows Germany to fulfill rising demands from the European Union reliably.

Ultra Tendency International has supported the register census as a subcontractor and technology expert with certified Cloudera specialists.
